It reduces the oil in the intake air to the absolute minimum – which prevents engine knocking and powerloss. Why this is especially important for a performance upgrade? The increased combustion pressure also increases crankcase pressure and oil content in the crankcase ventilation. This air is usually fed directly into the intake manifold from the factory via a hose. An oil catch can replaces this hose, binds („catches“) the oil and keeps it away from the combustion process.
