A little while back, Brian Tooley Racing “broke the internet” by releasing info on its line of BTR Valve Covers. We recently caught up with the BTR team at PRI 2021 in order to get a close look at these cleverly cast contraptions, and learn a bit more about what makes them so brilliant. Here’s what we discovered…
First of all, it’s worth noting that these covers retain a stock mounting height and are compatible with all OEM valve gaskets and hardware. While customers are offered either a Chevrolet Performance valve cover bolt and gasket set or one of BTR’s house-made alternatives prior to checkout, having the ability to grab parts from the local auto store for a quick fix down the line is a really considerate touch.
The cast molding of these valve covers is the real star of the show though, as it provides shaft rockers additional clearance, while 12AN ORB vents on either end allow an infinite array of catch can and air/oil separator options. An equally ingenious baffle design creates a splash guard down the bottom, that when attached to the head, protrudes downward past the valve cover surface.
While the “pumpkin spice latte orange” is a nice touch, BTR Valve Covers are currently being offered in either silver, black, or red.
