Switching out the exhaust for a vehicle is done by owners for a plethora of reasons. Be it wanting to have a more aggressive exhaust note, or for those that spend much of their time off-road rather than on-road, to keep yourself from hanging up the exhaust on those tight departure angles. Whatever the case, replacing the exhaust can be a timely project. However, as MRT has shown in a tutorial video that showcases their custom exhaust system installation for the Ford Bronco, it’s easier than you might think.

From what is displayed in the video, it turns out that the exhaust system for the Ford Bronco is held together by a bolt and two rubber exhaust hangers. The hangers allow the muffler to move around while the vehicle is in use, and apparently, all one needs to do is unscrew one of the bolts, grease the metal end, and then slide the exhaust off the hanger. However, it’s important to note that having the right tool for the job makes all the difference. Things could become substantially more complicated if that is missing from the equation but likely not impossible.

Once both hangers are loose, all that is left to do is wiggle the exhaust-free and install your desired replacement as instructed. Altogether, it doesn’t look like it took MRT long to remove the original exhaust system from the Ford Bronco. However, they did use a timelapse, which – like in those fancy baking videos – suggests that more time is required than what we see. But once you move on to the replacement, it should be smoother sailing as all one needs to do is slide it in place, bolt it on and ensure it’s hooked onto the hangers properly.

The chosen exhaust system for installation is MRT’s Trail Rated Turn Down Tip Exhaust which looks to increase departure angles of the Bronco to some degree. However, the company also offers other types of exhaust systems as well as Hood Struts.

What will the grease do to the isolator rubber over time, maybe a silicone spray would be better. Some exhaust band clamps are not considered reusable.
